The MD & HB Pilotage service had a boarding station at Point Lynas, on the Isle of Anglesey, on the North Wales coast, fifty miles from Liverpool. Dock Board tenders maintained the buoys and lightships out in Liverpool Bay. In 1893 the Board acquired its first dredger the Brancker. The company employed a large work-force to maintain the Birkenhead and Liverpool dock estates. |
