The CD is compiled from 100 old post cards and photographs which show the resort of New Brighton as it expanded from the 1890's through into the 1930's. At the same time the surrounding area of Liscard, Egremont, Wallasey and Poulton rapidly evolved into a vast residential area. As the houses and roads engulfed the farmland, the agricultural way of life of these villages was soon lost forever. |

The slide show opens with background music and the view of a wrecked
vessel on New Brighton's shore not far from a sandstone outcrop known as
the Red Noses. Views of the resort show how busy the place was, with
people enjoying a day at the seaside, and in the background of a number of
scenes New Brighton Tower dominates the landscape. |

In Poulton Village, views of a farmhouse and cottages
can be seen - long been swept away, as the area became industrialised. On Breck Road, a number of cottages, terraced houses, a farmhouse, and views
out over Bidston Moss are illustrated. © DMY. MM |
